Iowa medical marijuana card

Elevate Holistics makes getting your Iowa medical marijuana card quick, easy, and oh-so-affordable. With our telehealth process, you can get your IA MMJ card in less than 30 minutes, all from the comfort of your couch, desk, or bed. (We don’t judge!)

Below, we’ve outlined the simple three-step process that breaks down getting your Iowa medical marijuana card.

Step One:

Meet With an MMJ Doctor (Like Us!)

First things first, you have to meet with a physician to ensure you qualify for medical marijuana. Technically, in Iowa, any MD or DO can prescribe medical marijuana; but, if you want to make the process easy, you can go through Elevate Holistics.

Elevate Holistics has a team of professional Illinois MMJ doctors who are dedicated to giving you the cannabis care you need. You will meet with them digitally — either over the phone or the computer — to see whether or not you qualify for medical cannabis.

Our appointments take far less than 30 minutes, making them absolutely no interruption to your busy schedule.

Step Two:

Get Approved and Register With the State

After you’ve been approved by one of our doctors, you will head over to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services website to register with the state.

Here, they will ask you to prove your Iowa residency, as well as pay the $100 state fee.

Step Three:

Get Your MMJ Card and Start Shopping!

Compared to other states, Iowa tends to approve their patients fairly quickly. You may even hear back within 24 hours!

If you qualify, they’ll email you a temporary card that you can use until your permanent card comes in the mail a few weeks later.

Can Minors Get Medical Cards in Iowa?

Iowa medical marijuana card

Yes! If you have a qualifying condition for medical marijuana in Iowa but are under the age of 18, you can still purchase medical marijuana with the help of a caregiver. For minors, caregivers will typically be the parent or guardian.

The caregiver will be responsible for registering with the state, visiting dispensaries, buying products, and even administering them if need be.

Unfortunately, Elevate Holistics doesn’t offer minor appointments for those in Iowa just yet.
